One of the fun things about becoming a father is when your child makes friends and you, in turn, get to make friends with their parents. One thing that I have come to appreciate is not just the friendship with guys I wouldn't usually interact with or meet, but the shared interests and common goals of continuing to get better and be better. From working on DIY projects together, hanging out in the garage having a few cold ones, venting to each other about struggles, sharing parenting tips, and everything else, has pushed me to start assembling a group of dads.

As the Dad Scouts, I imagine us getting together monthly or bi-weekly, sharing ideas, and occasionally having some presenters for skills we haven't learned or mastered yet. The skills could range from how to light a charcoal grill all the way to building a shed. As this is a new group, we will continue to grow and change. We are open to new ideas and goals.
One day we can help impact the community in bigger more positive ways as well.
Thanks,
Greg
